Infosys’ American Depositary Receipts (ADRs), which are traded on the NYSE, saw a more than 8 percent increase following the company’s strong June quarter performance and raised growth projections.
Infosys’ stocks surged to lead the index gainers, jumping by 5 percent in early trading on July 19th to reach a one-year high after surpassing Q1 earnings forecasts and increasing revenue growth projections, indicating signs of improvement.
At 09.16 am, the NSE had Infosys shares selling for Rs 1,814. During the night, the American Depositary Receipts (ADRs) of Infosys, which are traded on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), surged by more than 8 percent to close at $22.25 following the announcement of the company’s June quarter earnings.
Infosys saw a 3.7 percent increase in revenue from operations in the April-June quarter, reaching Rs 39,315 crore. Yet, its combined after-tax earnings dropped approximately 20 percent compared to the previous quarter in Q1 FY25, reaching Rs 6,368 crore, mainly because of a substantial tax refund in the preceding quarter. However, both the bottomline and topline exceeded the Street’s predictions. A survey conducted by Moneycontrol with 10 brokerages had predicted that Infosys would report a Q1 net profit of Rs 6,248 crore and revenue of Rs 38,850 crore.
In addition to exceeding expectations, the IT services company pleased investors by increasing revenue growth guidance to 3-4 percent for the current fiscal year. The company had previously indicated a 1-3 percent revenue growth for FY25, and analysts had anticipated that the IT services company would maintain that forecast.

This action also indicated that the company is beginning to see signs of recovery. Nuvama Institutional Equities brokerage firm pointed out the positive outlook of the management, expecting a rebound in the US BFSI sector for Infosys and a better first half compared to the second half.
However, Motilal Oswal Financial Services thinks that the increase in FY25 revenue growth guidance was mainly due to a temporary spike in India business and inorganic factors. Nevertheless, there is a belief that significant successful deals will enhance the company’s long-term growth prospects.
According to MOFSL, Infosys has upheld its margin guidance but still sees potential for growth in the medium term, a positive sign
